Olive oil is rich in vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant. It is easily absorbed by the skin, and it's non-comedogenic so you wouldn't have to worry about clogging your pores.
Here are some ways you can use it in your beauty regimen:
Moisturizing
Apply olive oil on your skin after bathing. Pay special attention to the elbows, knees, hands, and feet, which are more prone to dryness.
Extra dry feet and hands? Apply olive oil right before bedtime, wear socks and gloves, and leave them overnight.
Hair Care
Warm olive oil in a pot for a minute and massage it onto your hair and scalp. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes with your hair covered in a shower cap. Shampoo your hair as usual. This treatment helps not just to moisturize your hair, but also to prevent split ends and dandruff.
On a daily basis, olive oil can be used as a leave-in conditioner. Depending on your hair length, put 1-3 drops on your palm, rub your hands together, the apply it on your hair.
Exfoliation
Mix olive oil and brown sugar. Apply it on your face or on any part of your body you'd like to exfoliate. Remember to scrub gently, especially if you're using it to exfoliate sensitive areas.
Massage
Use olive oil when you get a massage. I personally prefer this over coconut oil because of its scent and non-comedogenic properties. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to enhance your massage experience.
Make up Remover
Apply a few drops of olive oil on a cotton ball and remove make up before washing your face with a cleanser.
Lip CarePut a drop of olive oil on your finger and dab it on your lips to soothe dry, chapped lips.
Nail Care
Soak nails in a cup of warm olive oil for a few minutes to strengthen weak nails and soften cuticles.
